THE CALL-BUTTON PRESSING HABIT.

A Silly, Yet Widespread And Costly Behavioural Mistake

|
Man shall reap what he sows. The Sowing Law is a universal and inescapable law which works positively for us as a self-help technique or the other way round against us. However, since man is " more intelligent ", he decides to change these rules to suit his needs.
The Example Of Dictators
Here is a dictator who sets up “his own order” and decrees impunity, since nobody is above him and besides, he may believe that he is God himself. The years pass by, these rules are applied and he is under the illusion that his system works well, but after a while, comes the time for reaping. Mr Pinochet,
Mr Milosevitch and other similar heads of state who believed they could reverse things the way they wanted forever, have finally see that things could not be that way, even if some of them died before "reaping". The time for reaping always comes sooner or later.
The Example Of Tricksters
Tricksters in schools sometimes succeed in getting their degrees after having decided to set up the rule according to which they must sow little but harvest a lot. The degree also gives them the illusion that they " have won ", but once at work, the truth is out : they don't know what to do because they did not take time to learn and the benches are now very far away ...
The Call-Button Pressing Habit
Here is an additional outstanding example of human "cleverness" to get round the universal and inescapable Sowing Law. Do you know the call-button pressing habit ? I am almost sure that you can answer yes because it is much widespread.
According to the Sowing Law, one must sow to reap, but man decides the childish rule according to which when he is in need of something, he just has to press the button to have this need satisfied : need to be carefully listened to, to share a problem, need of a piece of advice in difficult times, financial need etc..
The person who behaves so in fact takes a decision in a kind of "zero gravity environment", thereby putting everything aside including the inescapable Sowing Law.
Maybe it's six months now, or more, he has not been in touch with the person supposed to answer the bell ..., quite a time he did not even bother to simply know how that person was doing ... but here we are, the need is there, and has to be urgently satisfied. Too bad, but he must start contorting himself to see what strategy to set up quickly to coax that person and make him/her swallow the bitter pill ... Some of you will smile because it will remind you of something...
What can he expect in such a context where he ignores this basic self-help technique ? Obviously, depending on circumstances, in the best cases, a punctual yes, but often a polite and negative answer, a pretext to be about to go out or any other subterfuge of the like, but very often too, an unpleasant, sarcastic remark...
Reaping is seldom a pleasant experience when the harvest is not good. See here this last example which will certainly make you smile ....
